The MK2 Ford Escort was a dominating choice of Hot Rod following on from the MK1 Escort in 1975.
In the hands of top drivers including Barry Lee, Mick Collard & even George Polley it won an incerdible amount of races.
The MK2 was a highly specialised machine and many top tuners from Burton Performance & Sonny Howard got the best from the 1650cc X-flow power plant.
Escorts would continue to win for over a decade untill many drivers changed for the newer Toyota Starlet
